Winter
Mt. Sunapee has been one of New England's favorite winter resort areas since the days when T-bars pulled skiers on wooden skis to the summit.

The Mt. Sunapee Resort is a totally new and exciting experience. Over $14 million has been invested in capital improvements over the last six years to provide the most up-to-date facilities and skiing experience.

The breathtaking 360-degree view overlooking beautiful Lake Sunapee will take you far, far away from daily life. Yet we're a close and easy escape - just 90 minutes from Boston, 40 minutes from Manchester and 30 minutes from Concord.

Yet another way to have fun on your winter vacation is snowshoeing with the family in the woods of Mt. Sunapee, or visit New London, just East of Mt. Sunapee, which boasts "The Snowshoe Capital of America".

You can rent snowshoes, get a lesson (it's easy) and head to the miles and miles of trails that will take you through the woods, up the hills, by the lakes and marshes surrounding the town. You will see evidence of moose, possibly flocks of wild turkeys, but best of all, you will be in the middle of honest-to-goodness outdoor nature.

Enjoy our two cross-country touring centers. Norsk Ski Touring Center in New London and Eastman Ski Touring Center in Grantham. Norsk offers more than 36km of groomed trails, lessons, rentals and moonlit tours. Eastman has 43 ski/snow shoe trails that cover 75 kilometers, and lessons, rentals and tours are available.

Besides skiing and snowshoeing, the lakes and ponds, along with several of the villages, offer ice-skating. Newport provides a wonderful ice rink on the town green. Also, there's ice fishing on most of the lakes and ponds.

In addition to the outdoor activities, there is a lot of other things to do, with fine dining, casual pubs, movies, swimming, bowling and plenty of exciting night life close by.

For the best of times this winter, take a vacation here in the Lake Sunapee Region. For more information, please use our contact form, e-mail chamberinfo@nhvt.net, or give us a call at 603-526-6575 or 877-526-6575.
