At a Glance: Snuggled between Ragged Mountain and Mount Kearsarge, the town of Andover, with a pleasantly relaxed ambience, is dotted with many small lakes and ponds. Population: 2,001.

Home of Proctor Academy, a coed four-year residential preparatory school established in 1848. The Academy's attractive grounds and buildings form the town's centerpiece.

Overview: This scenic town with two covered bridges is a favorite spot for photographers.

The picturesque train station (at Potter Place) serves as the Andover Historical Society's museum. Kayak and canoe enthusiasts enjoy the Blackwater River with livery service and tours available.
